Mat is our lead installer, meaning he works on every project. From start to finish of your project, Mat is responsible for ensuring that every step is done correctly. He verifies measurements before ordering shutters, and then is on site performing the installation. Having worked various construction jobs prior to installing shutters has given Mat well-rounded knowledge of building principles. This knowledge and experience allows him to offer homeowners valuable insights into their projects to ensure they feel comfortable and confident in their investment.
Mat started installing hurricane shutters in 2016, when he was asked to help in preparations for Hurricane Matthew. He quickly realized that he not only enjoyed the work, but also felt passionate about helping people to feel secure in uncertain times. After experiencing disconnections between sales teams and installers that negatively affected homeowners, he founded Protocol Hurricane Shutters in 2018. He felt that homeowners deserved shutter systems specifically designed for them and their home, and that communication between contractor and homeowner is the most important aspect of a project.
Being a family owned business, Anna worked with Mat through every step of business formation and start-up. She graduated from UCF in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Owning a business was always the goal, but with no specific industry. With 6 years of experience in medical and construction administration, Anna had the necessary skills to help build a well-rounded business in the construction industry.
Anna joined Mat full time in 2021 when the company had sufficiently grown, and had become busier than Mat could handle by himself. Anna decided to take on the challenge of working in the field along side of Mat as away to further develop their positive reputation as a company that was committed to provide the best possible service to their customers. The field experience has helped Anna gain valuable industry knowledge to be able to better assist customers during every stage of their projects.
